20B: No fenders turns Alexander Rossi’s Car number Today!

A much younger Alexander Rossi Meet ‘n Greet at Will Buxton’s Big Time Bash in Austin, during the 2014 U.S. Grand Prix. (The Tomaso collection)

as the needle continuously skips upon the scratchy vinyl record on thoust turntable upon Ye mystical Isle ‘O Nofendersville…

And the needle was definitely skippin’ Y’all! When I began trying to crystalize my thoughts the day after the Portland IndyCar race, with the Golden Oldies radio station playing Waylon Jenning’s Just A good ‘Ol boy YeeHaw song, Say What?

VIDEO: Just A Good ‘Ol boy

Or that like a skipping record, your Humble No Fenders scribe Tomaso would still be labouriously poondin’ away on Thy ancient Selectric keyboard here at No Fenders! Still merrily creating fresh content for Y’all weekly consumption 20 Gory years later, Aye Karumba!

First ‘n foremost, like All the IndyCar drivers do. Its time to thank the Fans for perusing No Fenders and hopefully reading some of my Zany Blog posts the past 12 months, especially All four of my loyal readers!

Being lovingly honed with a dull, rusty knife in Tomaso Manor whilst thoust waves crash upon the jagged coastline of Nofendersville, and All the busy little creatures scurry in their tide pools…

As that ‘Ol MacDougals slogan now serving (19 Million) here come to mind again, Hya! Uhm, think its still 19 million, Crickets!

While it does blow my mind that I surpassed the 5,000 posts threshold late last year!

A Milestone and ever revolving Racing Movie Choices

Orr Y’all can skip directly to my latest Top 10 Racing Movie choices in the link below.

Belated top 10 Racing Movie Choices

Where to begin another year later, Eh? As the record spins round ‘n round…

Suppose I’ll start with the low lying fruit, even though I’m feeling what’s that word Geddy? Oh yeah, Nihilistic over being in a Post IndyCar Season Funk! Even if you, Alex and new Band mates Anika Milles (Drums) and Loren Gold (Keyboard) are busy galavanting on tour…

And like that skipping, broken record.  we all know, Alex Palou had another “Magically Delicious” season this year, winning His sixth race of the season at Portland. Has The Surgeon’ carved up any more W’s since?

Whilst thankfully I wasn’t trying to take the train to the Rose City during race weekend last month! More on that later Folks.

“It’s a Parallax

No Polyester Slacks

Gona Kick some gluteus Max

Get Busy with the Facts Jack

Roll the bones!”

“Why are we here,, because we’re here, Roll the Bones”

VIDEO: Roll the Bones – R40 live in Toronto

Along with visiting my favourite Oregon Coast Beach thanks to Tacoma Bureau Chief Mary Ellen. And my treks “Back Home Again” to Warshington’. Albeit not knowing how badly I’ll d Backhoed by the just destroyed )burnt) Centennial Mills building’s closing of Amtrak train travel from Portland to Washington, Yikes!

Thoust highlight of the year has to be my debutante visit to the wonderful Martin Auto Museum, which you may have read some of my elongated recapping of said Museo visit, which I just finished posting upon No Fenders.

Meanwhile on the technology front, along with constantly trying to keep up with Microsoft’s forced Arse-simulation of its latest products. Now over a year plus, RACER still refuses to become WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) compliant, and Arse-sumedly will never do so? Which is just downright disappointing to your blind Motorsports enthusiast!

Imagine Accessibility for the Blind, RACER!

Yet how can I righteously complain about any of my “First World” problems when my Government is complicit in the Deaths and Starvation of thousands of people in the Middle East! Where as of August 12th, 73,438 Palestinians had been Killed by the senseless Genocide! 40,179 being Children. As let that sink in Y’all!

12,500 Women, 1,701 Medical and 262 Press being part of that hideous Death toll, and that’s just in Gaza! With who knows how many horrendous deaths in Lebanon?  Not to mention the stupendous war against Iran, where my Government killed 156 civilians and 120 schoolchildren at Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in a triple “tap” missile strike on the first day of war! (Feb 28th)

VIDEO: “Be sure to Wear some Flowers in your Hair”

As what’s that ‘Ol U2 Rattle and Hum song where Bono says “Am I buggin’ you Man? I Don’t mean to bug You, play the Blues Edge!”

As the song Silver and Gold is about Apartheid in South Africa, for which currently is still occurring in the Middle East! As I Don’t mean to Bug Yuhs…

VIDEO: Sover and Gold - live

For those still following along. Thanks to everyone visiting Nofendersville and reading my eclectic scribblings upon No Fenders the past 20 years!

Since this Uber' eclectic mix 'N veritable Spin Cycle 'O finely honed Thomason' Tex-Mex Jambalaya of Wordsmithing wouldn't have been possible over thoust numerous seasons without All of the Usual suspects continued yearly support.

And like Melody Sheik brilliantly “Sings” in his Symphony of Science Masterpiece from over a Dozen years ago now. Suppose I’m getting sort of use to Chicago Davey’ Malukas piloting the No. 12 Team Penske entry. But like the late Carl Sagan says, there’s Billions and Billions of Stars, and “We Are All connected”.

VIDEO: We Are All Connected

Whilst never fear Ladies and Germs’, Your Humble No Fenders Scribe Tomaso is planning on sticking round for awhile longer. Celebrating my milestone 20th Anniversary today, I do wish to “see” how the new Dallara IR28 IndyCar pans out…

Arrivederci,

Tomaso

Pato O’Ward celebrates another Year

Although He might wish for something a bit stronger than that energy drink, ci? (The Tomaso Collection)

And I’m quite certain He’d like a Borg Warner trophy as one of His presents!

For those of you following the gossip columns, today marks Patricio O’Ward Junco’s 27th Birthday. While I’ve got zero clue how Pato’s celebrating today.

Arse-sumedly all of the IndyCar drivers busses, Err motor coaches are parked at Mother Speedway. So perhaps Pato will be searchin’ for a tenderloin sandwich or some fried chicken to share with Alex Palou, Ole!

INDY 500: Searchin’ Far and Wide

Meanwhile, like typical. Thinking of my Numero Uno IndyCar driver’s nationality, I wondered who was the last Mexicali IndyCar Pilote before Him to race at Mother Speedway?

Think it was Michel Jourdain Jr, who last raced in the 2012 Indianapolis 500. Before failing to qualify the next year, when Bump Day saw ten cars vying for the final nine grid spots.

Ironically, Katherine Legge sat on the Bubble, driving for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. While Jourdain’s Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLLR) “Steed” just wouldn’t Giddy-Up! As RLLR took several swings to get the Dallara-Honda entry to run fast, but no dice! Before the team finally gave up at 5:45PM with Jourdain never having made a qualifying attempt.

Fast forwarding to today, there’s  currently two aspiring Indy NXT drivers hoping to join Pato in IndyCar.

Ricardo Escotto, age 21 is in His third season. Having driven for Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) in 2024 for five races. Then joining Andretti Cape NXT for the season’s first nine races, before leaving the team.

For 2026, Escotto as returned to JHR, and presumably plans on completing His first full season Indy NXT campaign.

Salvador de Alba Jr, age 26 is racing for HVM Motorsports in His third Indy NXT season.

De Alba spent His rookie season in 2024 competing for Andretti Cape NXT, finishing fifth in the championship.

Last year, Salvador graduated to Andretti Global, where He played “third fiddle”. Being overshadowed by Dennis Hauger and Lochie Hughes, albeit the entire grid was overshadowed by eventual champion Hauger. While Hughes finished third overall.

Nevertheless, de Alba scored His maiden Indy NXT win with an emphatic triumph on the Milwaukee Mile! Followed by being a disappointed runner-up at Nashville’s season finale. Once again finishing fifth overall.

And now, having just learned of the totally unknown rookie Alejandro Bobavilla, competing in this years Formula Regional Americas championship for powerhouse Crosslink Motorsports.

Whilst you can read my elongated, previous No Fenders tome about our Southern “Brothers” and Mexico’s involvement in Open Wheel Racing below.

On The Border - Mexicali Racing Talents

Happy Birthday Pato!

F1: Show Me the Money!

But definitely Don’t expect any Change back…

Although why did Bernie and The Muppets come screaming in my Head initially?

As once again, I wasn’t able to “Back-time” this properly, having already poonded’ out a plethora ‘O No Fender stories for your dining consumption…

Did somebody say dining? Was that the 12:45 reservation being called aboard my train? As think its past my lunchtime, Hya!

Even if I could have squeezed it in? I wasn’t going to celebrate a one Bernard Charles Ecclestone’s 95th Birthday on October 28th. For whomever will simply be Uncle Bernaughty to Mwah!

As what more can I say than Uncle Bernaughty simply cutting a cheque for a cool $100m to the German authorities to wiggle His way out of a Bribery trial! Whilst lest we forget? The miserable Fall-man Sob in the morass, disgraced German Banker Gerhard Gribkowsky sat rotting in jail for 8.5 years while Ecclestone, then a spritely 83 years young, serenely continued doing Business as Usual, Ja Volt!

While Formula One’s Teflon Man Slips the Noose, another ties His own Knot

Nor should we forget that Messer Bernaughty plead guilty to tax fraud two years ago. Agreeing to pay the British Tax authorities HS Revenues nearly $653m British pounds for failing to properly divulge multiple trusts in 2015.

Or accidentally taking a revolver with Him to Sao Paolo when attending the Brazilian Grand Prix with wife Fabiana. With Bernie denying being arrested, yet paying $1,740 in Bail. Before joking that He hadn’t had any publicity lately and thought He needed to drum up some. Along with being mugged for His luxury Hublot watch some 15 years ago…

But don’t worry. In typical Bernie fashion, He turned the 2010 mugging into a presumably profitable Advert’. Or at the very least garnered His much sought after public attention He craves!

Hublot’s tactic with the Blackey Bernie Ecclestone Watch Ad

Not to mention having recently sold His fantastic 69 vintage F1 car collection, reportedly worth $500m to Red Bull Heir Mark Mateschitz. Son of the late Deeter Majestic! Aka Dietrich Mateschitz

Along with reportedly just having sold the first of His two private yachts for $17m. With the 176-foot “Petara”, named after daughters Pietra and Tamara. Which the Ecclestone’s only used eight days a year…

And how surreal to be 95yrs old and have a five year old son named Abe. Along with His eldest daughter Deborah being 70; some 20-plus years older than His current wife.

Yet when reading the London Telegraph’s article honouring His momentous birthday. Interestingly, Eccleston mentioned of His four closest life friends; Jochen Rindt, Niki Lauda, Max Mosely and Flavio Briatore, only one was still alive.

Ironically, it just so happens that His pal “HMS Monogram”, Flavour Flav or simply Flavio Briatore is at the heart of Ecclestone’s latest court case. With Felipe Massa persevering over the noxious Crashgate affair that one could say cost Him the 2008 Formula 1 World Championship!

As Massa is reportedly suing Ecclestone, Formula One Management (FOM) and the FIA for $64 million Australian pounds for breech of contract and duty. As I love how the London Telegraph always quotes monetary amounts in Australian pounds, and not British…

Massa claims that Ecclestone’s public statement in 2023 about how He and Arse-sumedly the deposed Max Mosley knew about Crashgate before the end of the 2008 F1 season and chose to do nothing about it! Would have summarily revised the results of said Singapore Grand Prix, which future Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso won. And thus Massa would have been that year’s F1 Driver’s Champion instead of Lewis Hamilton winning His maiden Driver’s crown.

As I’m most intrigued over how this turns out. Since one could argue that Massa has a valid point. But is it worth overturning History?

As sadly, Fernando will Always be Faster than you Massa, Confirm…

Meanwhile, on this side of the Gory Puddle. Its nice knowing that Liberty Media has sold out Formula 1. Awarding the 2026 U.S. TV rights to Apple for a rumoured $140-180m per season for the next five years. As basically Liberty Media has just effectively doubled what ESPN paid for its latest three year contract extension between 2022-25, i.e.; $75-90m. Which was far north of the earlier ESPN F1 rights deal of a paltry $5m per year!

Thus nobody Stateside with old fashioned Cable TV will be able to “consume” Formula 1 on their Telie’s next year, Bastardoes!

Yeah, I know I’m not the desired target audience. And perhaps more people stream these days vs. traditional TV? Especially when your Cable company just adds on an extra $10 per month willy nilly. Not Willie Vanilla; since Thars’ a whole lot of lip synching going on over no better service, Oh Never Mind!

But I’m left wondering how is a legally blind motorsports fan supposed to stream? And is this the end of my four decades of faithfully watching Formula 1 on Ye Boob Tube?

As why should we be left scrambling once again to support a sport that wasn’t even in the mainstream’s consciousness or lexicon when I began following it religiously in 1986, Eh?

Thus, a large part of me hopes this move backfires for Liberty Media, Err Formula 1. Since sometime the F1 bubble’s gonna burst Stateside, and this seems the perfect catalyst!

But then again what do I know? Simply being a cellar dwelling Blogger who still lives in the 20th Century…

19B: No Fenders turns the late Justin Wilson’s Car number today

Long ago Justin Wilson “Hero” Card collected during the 2014 Sonoma IndyCar Driver’s Autograph session. (The Tomaso Collection)

With no disrespect towards James Jake, Ana Beatriz, Carlos Huertas or whomever else once presumably drove the #19 Dale Coyne Racing entry?

as the needle continuously skips upon the scratchy vinyl record on thoust turntable upon Nofendersville, Y’all know the drill…

As I hadn’t even contemplated it was the 10 year anniversary of Justin Big Unit Wilson’s passing when I began scribblin’ this. Ah, I love the smell ‘O synchronicity in the Morning! As IndyCar was racing at the Milwaukee Mile on the tenth anniversary of His Death…

Justin Wilson: 1978-2015

Or that Amazingly, your Humble No Fenders scribe Tomaso would still be labouriously poondin’ away at Ye ancient Selectric keyboard here at No Fenders! Still merrily creating fresh content for Y’all weekly consumption 19 Gory years later, Aye Karumba!

First ‘n foremost, like All the IndyCar drivers do. Its time to thank the Fans for perusing No Fenders and hopefully reading some of my Zany Blog posts the past 12 months, especially All four of my loyal readers! which are lovingly honed with a dull, rusty knife in Tomaso Manor whilst thoust waves crash upon the jagged coastline of Nofendersville Mateys, Shiver Me Timbers!

As why does that ‘Ol MacDougals slogan now serving (19 Million) here come to mind again, Hya!

Uhm, where to begin another year later, Eh? Suppose I’ll start with the low lying fruit, even though I’m feeling what’s that word Geddy? Oh yeah, Nihilistic over being in a Post IndyCar Season Funk…

As we all know, Alex Palou had a magical season this year, aiming for His ninth win of the season at Portland. Where once again I was passing thru via Amtrak on my way north to Warshington’. Before tuning into the race from one of Puget Sound's many Islands.

Meanwhile, thee Pinball Wizard’, nee Marc Marquez has systematically decimated the MotoGP grid this year! Having won eight times thru their summer break following Bruno in the Czech Republic, where Marquez secured His fifth consecutive win this season. Catapulting the Spaniard to second overall in career wins, surpassing the legendous’ Giacomo Agostini.

Whilst Denis Hauger has pretty much blitzed the Indy Lights, Err NXT field. Winning six times prior to Portland. His only blemish being the collision with Andretti Global teammate Lochi Hughes at Laguna Seca, seeing His points lead evaporate to 32 markers after leading by 93 Me Thinks…

Although Hauger secured both the Driver’s and Rookie of the Year Championships with a fine second place at Milwaukee.

this year in the life of Tomaso has just Zoom-Zoomed bye-bye again. As no Roger Waters put a log on the fire Jokes here, Hya!

Having felt fairly morose when beginning scribbling this. Since I’m forever trying to have new, fresh Blog content ready to upload on No Fenders, even if I promised myself I wouldn’t let Ye Blob’ consume me! Yet after 19 years, ifs become a piece of my daily fabric…

Now I could complain about RACER having wrecked its website with its redesign, which if you’ve been reading my eclectic scribbles, Yuhs know they’ve failed to follow WCAG 2.2 guidelines, the foundations of making Web Content Accessible for everyone, i.e.; Blind and Visually Impaired readers…

Trying to Follow IndyCar is a Hard Job

Or I could grumble about the insane scrutiny I experienced during my first flight post Open Heart surgery, where TSA didn’t give me the option of walking thru the metal detector on my own as in years past…

The Perks of being A Blind Traveler

Yet how can I righteously complain about any of these “First World” problems when my Government is complicit in the Deaths and Starvation of thousands of people in the Middle East! Where the figure of some 60,000, mainly Women and Children have been killed during this senseless Genocide!

Not to mention 373 people, including 134 children; as of September 5th, perishing from famine is incomprehensible! With a Famine just being officially declared, Shit!

VIDEO: “Be sure to Wear some Flowers in your Hair”

While our Pretender-in-chief Bombastically was busy playing golf in Scotland and presumably stuffing His face with Five Star meals. Not to mention the fabled G7 saying pass the gravy, when civilians were dying hourly from malnutrition! And those in power continue the practices of Colonization in their interests…

As what’s that ‘Ol U2 Rattle and Hum song where Bono says “Am I buggin’ you Man? I Don’t mean to bug You, play the Blues Edge!”

As the song Silver and Gold is about Apartheid in South Africa, for which currently is occurring in the Middle East! As I Don’t mean to Bug Yuhs…

It isn’t Hard to do

Nothing to Kill or Die for

And No Religion too

Imagine All the People

Living for Today

Imagine No Possessions

I wonder if you Can

No need for Grief or Hunger

A Brotherhood of Man

Imagine All the People

Living life in Peace

You may say I’m a dreamer

But I’m not the only one

I hope someday You’ll join Us

And the World will be as One”

Since this Uber' eclectic mix 'N veritable Spin Cycle 'O finely honed Thomason' Tex-Mex Jambalaya of Wordsmithing wouldn't have been possible over thoust numerous seasons without All of the Usual suspects continued yearly support.

And like Melody Sheik brilliantly “Sings” in His Symphony of Science Masterpiece from over a Dozen years ago now. As it’ll be just plain weird not having DJ WillyP’ in His ubiquitous No. 12 Team Penske entry next year! But there’s Billions and Billions of Stars, and “We Are All connected”.

18B: No Fenders turns Jack Harvey’s, Nolan siegel, Hunter McElrea’s Car Number today!

Two very Happy couch Surfers! Starring Hang 10’ Hilo whom aided Tomaso with His Heart surgery recovers. The Tomaso Collection)

Along with All of the other Suspects to drive the No. 18 Dale Coyne entry like Chicago’s “Davey” Malukas, Sealmeister B’, ergo Sebastien Bourdais and everyone else…

Hopefully not sounding like a broken record here upon No Fenders? But I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d still be labouriously poondin’ at Ye ancient keyboard here upon thoust mystical isle of Nofendersville! Or still merrily creating fresh content for Y’all weekly 18 Freakin’ years later, Aye Karumba!

First ‘n foremost, like All the IndyCar drivers do. Its time to thank the Fans for perusing No Fenders and hopefully reading some of my Zany Blog posts the past 12 months, especially All four of my loyal readers!which are lovingly honed with a dull, rusty knife in Tomaso Manor whilst thoust waves crash upon the jagged coastline of Nofendersville Mateys, R-R-R!

As why does that ‘Ol MacDougals slogan now serving (insert number) here come to mind, Hya!

Uhm, where to begin, Eh? As this year in the life of Tomaso has been singularly unique, especially since I never thought I’d be having Open Heart surgery this past January! Or when I tell people about it, they All tell me I’m too young for that.

Along with being my first surgery ever. Whale’ Y’all know that saying about “Go Big or Go Home”, Righto? And thus off I went to Springfield for surgery. Having scribbled about my “primer” in the No Fenders story below…

http://www.nofenders.net/2024/02/the-tomaso-files-my-first-hospital.html

And I’ve got a million fading memories of spending six days in Hospital and everything new associated with it still swimming round my Head! Like my “Head” Nurse Molly taking pity on me and saying we’re gonna put a second hospital gown on you backwards – so nobody’s gotta look at my tailfeathers when walking the Halls!

Or the rehab Nurses giving up on my trying to use a walker while being Blind! As I’m a really “good” driver, Hya! Just putting a belt around me and having me walk the hallways instead. And I could go on and on…

Whilst it’s funny how quickly we regress back into our daily routines, since it seems so long ago since those six days in Hospital following my surgery. Not to mention how quickly one’s muscles atrophy!

Then going home after my INR number had stabilized sufficiently for my initial eight weeks recovery period; when not allowed to raise my arms over my head. Twist, push, pull, pickup or carry anything over 8lbs, i.e.; one gallon of milk! Although typically the sternum bone cut in half isn’t fully “Healed” until twelve weeks, which now all seems like a distant memory…

as I’d said I was gonna “Dial” back upon Blogging so much info weekly, but here I am scurrying to poond’ out another riveting story Justin-time for your consumption! After having previously written about the perils of placing stress upon one’s self…

http://www.nofenders.net/2024/02/the-tomaso-files-how-blogging-saved-my.html

Having celebrated seven months since said Open Heart surgery over a Fortnight ago, its amazing how much I’ve gone back to my normal, daily grind; which obviously is a good thing…

Thus, I really don’t have a whole lot else to offer for this year’s anniversary’s salutations. Other than I’ve just returned from my very first trip outside of the state since said surgery. A very enjoyable trek to Warshington’ to visit friends & family. And oh yeah, a one certain precocious Hoond fondly known as Hang 10’ Hilo. Thee Star of the Show!

Another casualty for Mwah is the ridiculousness of IndyCar’s Start-Stop-Start G-O really fast to the end before F$$KING’ Football! Is my having missed three of the season’s last five races – having listened to every single one via IndyCar Radio thru Toronto before some stupid Sports games in Paris interrupted! And then having missed Gateway and Milwaukee’s Double Header, whilst listening to the Portland race from Tacoma.

As this is what happens when life gets busy, and one prefers to take advantage of summer’s fleeting weather vs. staying home to listen to IndyCar and other motor racing series around Ye Globe, i.e.; Formula 1, MotoGP and Sports Cars. And I’m pretty certain this will only increase beginning with next year’s even further condensed IndyCar schedule to appease it’s new television provider FOX, Brilliant!

No idea why this caused an ‘Ol Robbie Robertson song’s opening lyrics to spring to mind? For which I’ve cleverly “adapted” to hopefully make some reason or rhyme…

“As you know I’ve got a million stories to go,

As this is just one more of the million I’ve got left to tell”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDFAw_wj_Go

As I won’t prattle on too much longer here. But just wanted to say that I’ve got a bunch ‘O stories I’ve been wanting to scribble awhile now and will do so. Which may not relate to anything current in Der Vurld de Motorsporten, Ja-Ja! Otherwise,

Thanks to everyone visiting Nofendersville and reading my eclectic scribblings upon No Fenders All these years!

Since this Uber' eclectic mix 'N veritable Spin Cycle 'O finely honed Thomason' Tex-Mex Jambalaya of Wordsmithing wouldn't have been possible over thoust numerous seasons without All of the Usual suspects continued yearly support.

Led First 'N Foremost by Tacoma Bureau Chief Mary Ellen, the late Kuhnaidiun' lass Claire and Blogmeister' Miguel!, who keeps this Site Alive and makes All of my Zany Updates whenever requested.

Along with Mary Ellen’s G-R-r-R-Reat Hoond’ who’s I affectionately nickname Hang 10’ Hilo! Being the most laid back Chihuahua I’ve ever met! Whom I eagerly look forward to “Seeing” every single time I have the opportunity to do so!

Plus continuous contributions from Offical' Photographer CARPETS', Snowbyrd MJ', Randal, Thy Moniker King' . Along with the still Mega' Killer official No Fenders logo provided by Artiste Dave!

And like Melody Sheik brilliantly “Sings” in his Symphony of Science Masterpiece from over a Dozen years ago. Uhm, whose IndyCar Number is that? “We Are All connected!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGK84Poeynk

Whilst never fear Ladies and Germs’, Your Humble No Fenders Scribe Tomaso is planning on sticking round for awhile. Especially since I just had a new mechanical Heart valve insertion!

17B: No Fenders Turns the long forgotten Oriol Servia’s Car Number!

Tomaso trying not to disturb a contented Hang 10’ Hilo while seated  on His lap at a local park. (The Tomaso Collection)

As it was nice of IndyCar to Throw A Party at Laguna seca! Even if Alex Palou celebrated at Portland…

Yeah, I know, I know. Y’all were probably expecting some riveting Laguna Seca IndyCar Wrap-up here today. Instead of wishing No Fender Birthday Salutations for turning another year Older today, Surprise!

Since how many of Y’all remember that Oriol “Suitcase” Servia raced the No. 17 for Rahal Letterman Racing during the 2009 Indianapolis 500, Eh?

Naturally I’m feeling a Wee Bitomyte’ Nihilistic (Geddy) over the racing season effectively being Done ‘N Dusted. Suffering from the Post IndyCar Season Blues, sigh.  Like seriously IndyCar? Another Freakin’ 289 days ridiculously long Offseason, Drat!

As here’s what I scribbled for last year’s No Fenders birthday when turning “Sweet Sixteen”, Yikes!

http://www.nofenders.net/2022/09/16b-no-fenders-turns-simona-d.html

As it’s somewhat hard knowing that it’s now been just over one year since my last outing to a race track. Having been a wonderful day’s outing at Portland International Raceway when ScottyMac’, aka Scott McLaughlin put a veritable Beatdown upon the entire field leading 104 of 110 laps enroute to victory!

Whilst I really cannot recall what all I’ve done the remainder of that “calendar” year. Beside the infrequent, but overly enjoyable trips back Home to Warshington’. And the great treks with Tacoma Bureau Chief Mary Ellen and Her faithful navigator Hang 10’ Hilo!

Although I found myself repeatedly mentally singing the following Rush song verse minus You can make the most of the distance during the latter portion of our three weeks camping safari…

“You can do a lot in a lifetime

If you don’t burn out to fast

You can make the most of the distance

First you need endurance

First you’ve got to last”

As the verse is from Rush’s song Marathon, off of their 1985 album Power Window. Which Y’all can listen to below…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Kiz5jyG5j4

Arse-sumedly I found myself chanting this repeatedly over my mental Jukebox for the obvious reasons. Since I suppose you could say I’m in the Autumnal equinox of life! As another milestone birthday fast approaches…

Since although I still crave motorsports on a weekly basis. Being part of the reason I’ve continued poondin’ away on my trusty keyboard for the past 17 Freakin’ years, Youza! Some may say it’s travesty, but with my overly sensitive hearing. Like have I told Y’all I’m Blind lately?

Hey, Y’all do know that Blind people have Super powers, Righto? Eh, speak up Sonny…

Thus I find that my favourite soundtrack in life these days is the sound of the Ocean’s waves caressing on the Beach! For which I only get to Hear these sounds a few times a year, even if I live just a mile away from the Ocean.

Although when I manage to shut off my internal Jukebox and not think about anything racing related, i.e.; IndyCar or Formula 1. I find myself saying that it’s the sound of life passing me by and I can never get those precious seconds back…

Whilst another enjoyable moment upon our trip was sitting on a park bench at a Vashon Island lagoon listening to the Kingfishers frollicing about! As the late George Winston’s song aptly titled Woods always brings me great tranquility. Imagining I’m in a forest with a Woodpecker Hard at work!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GCeanyR71A

16B: No Fenders Turns Simona d Silvestro’s Car Number

As it’s Kind of IndyCar to be Throwing A Party at Laguna seca…

Yeah, I know. Y’all are probably busy like Mwah “Watching,” Err listening to Indy Cars Season finale from Laguna Seca right now, instead of wanting to Hear about No Fenders turning Sweet 16 today!

And most likely I’m making too B-I-G of a Dealio’ out of this, Eh? Especially since I realize a City Doesn’t care about it’s Inhabitants, But! I found myself having a Wee Bitamyte  ‘O Melancholy over being “Locked Out” Financially of my Home City now some four years later. Since it was Seafair weekend in Ye Emerald City, also formerly known as The Jet city…

Even though Thar were Motor Races going on Ah-Plenty’. But this point really hit home when Hearing Josef Newgarden doing the Obligatory this is NTT IndyCar Driver Insert Name Here; Josef Newgarden from His Home City of Nashville, this is IndyCar Radio Network…

Whilst it’s Funny that I Didn’t even know I had another Birthday coming up! Until searching just three weeks prior thru last September’s No Fenders Blog Archive. Although it’ll forever be Zepptember’ in Honour of Seattle’s Classic Rock Station KZOK 102.5FM, which I Arse-sume is still on the Air? Whilst I also get a Kick outta the other Seattle Rock Station KISW 99.9FM’s calling the following month Rocktober, but I digress…

As I was searchin’ for what title I’d used for the last two West Coast IndyCar races, And Wallah! Thar was that title ‘bout turning Graham Rahal’s car number Staring at Me…

http://www.nofenders.net/2021/09/year-15-no-fenders-turns-graham-rahals.html

But I do have to say I’m definitely feeling a Wee Bitamyte’ Nihilistic right now Geddy! Having just read a recent Blogger’s Post of thanking just two of the current few IndyCar bloggers, whom I feel are “Cub bloggers!” Especially since I started Blogging some 2.75 years before said Blogger, and way before these two “Wookies!”

Making me ponder what’s the point of my having been Scribbling away furiously since Sept 11, 2006? Not to mention the prodigious amount ‘O Hours I pour weekly into creating “Fresh Content” for this Site. Since whatever Happened to Said Blogger’s “All Boats Rising” mantra, Eh?

Whilst naturally, when Blogmeister’ Miguel suggested I take up Blogging some Gory 16 years ago, little did I know how Integral a part of my Daily life it would become!

While I also Owe a Shout Out to former My Name’s IRL Blogger Jeffrey Iannucci, who not only was positive about my ‘lil No Fenders Blogsite, but inspired me to apply for IMS Credentials, which I was surprisingly granted Wayback in Gory 2009!

http://www.nofenders.net/2009/06/bloggers-invade-indy.html

What’s that Geddy Lee? Stop being so Nihilistic? Yeah, I bought your My Favourite Headache album on CD 21 Gory Years ago! Uhm, what’s that about “Just Between the Ice ages Anyways?” As it’s Hard “Working at Perfect,” which is my favourite track on the Album…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IisWePK0dFM

Oh Yeah, I think 21 is some Neiderlander’s Brilliant Orange IndyCar number, Just Sayin’

As it’s Funny How Fast time Zoom Zooms by Here upon thoust mystical Isle ‘O Nofendersville! As can it really be four years ago that I was just settling into Thy Bungalow by The Sea and ecstatic over having my new Spectrum Cable TV service installed Justin-time’ for the 2018 Grand Prix of Portland IndyCar race.

As those were the Good ‘Ol Dazes when I looked forward to Paul Tracy in the Booth weekly. As now I just truly listen to All IndyCar races on the IndyCar Radio Network, provided my Interwebbs’ working!

http://www.nofenders.net/2022/05/an-electrifying-night-before-500.html

And Do Not even get me started over Spectum’s Retarded telephone service. Like having No dial tone, or constantly Battling either the person on the other end Not being able to Hear me, or Visa Versa, Hello, Hello, Hello? Like Can You Hear Me Now Spectrum? Not to mention the Sickly Sweet Female voice saying We’re Sorry, Your Call did Not go Thru…

Uhm, Oh Yeah, I almost forgot Spectrum’s motto: Spectrum, We Care!

”Time is A Gypsy Caravan, Steals Away the Night to leave You Stranded in Dreamland, Distance is A long-range Filter, Memory, A Flickering light left behind in the Heartland…”

“We Are Only Immortal for A limited time…”

Otay, time to wrap up another meandering, waxing “Short” Ha Ha! Idyllic prose by your Humble Scribe Tomaso svribblin’ here upon thoust Isle ‘O Nofendersville, as somebody throw me a Lifejacket, please! Especially since it’s so G-Damn Hard to keep from tipping thoust Groceries into thee Drink when paddling in Choppy Seas…

Thus although doing this Blogging Gig seems to have become a week by week yearly exercise. Especially now when My ever decreasing typing speed, combined with my continuously faltering eyesight makes Blogging more 'N more challenging each year! Like Have I reminded Y’all I’m Blind lately?

Not to mention Ye gory Intrawoods’, (Internet) Blooger’ (Blogger.com) or my Putrid “New & Improved” Zoomtext Fusion 2022 Screen Reader “Zoey the Princess Warrior” AIN'T acting up or Blowin' Ah-gasket, SHEISA!

As I still plan upon sticking around until 2023, since it’s right round Ye Corner Mates! And I’m very intrigued over the forthcoming IMSA GTP Sports Cars “resurgence” next year with Acura, BMW, Cadillac and Porsche. Not to mention the FIA’s World Endurance Championship’s “Uptick” for it’s new Le Mans Hypercars (LMH) era “Convergence” seeing la Scuderia’, (Ferrari) Porsche, Toyota, Peugeot, Cadillac and the other Automobile Manufacturers, i.e.; Glickenhaus and the Grandfathered Alpine contesting Circuit de la Sarthe next June. Which will be celebrating it’s Centenary 24 Heurs du Mans outing. Complete with that modified “Next Gen” Hendrick Motorsports RASSCAR’ ZL-1 Camaro as it’s Garage 56th entry…

Hence, like the Drivers say after every race, Thanks to The Fans for showing up here in Nofendersville and reading my eclectic scribblings upon No Fenders All these years!

Since this Uber' eclectic mix 'N veritable Spin Cycle 'O finely honed Thomason' Tex-Mex Jambalaya of Wordsmithing wouldn't have been possible over thou seasons without A-L-L of the Usual suspects continued yearly support.

Led First 'N Foremost by Tacoma Bureau Chief Mary Ellen, the late Kuhnaidiun' lass Claire and Blogmeister' Miguel!, who keeps this Site Alive and makes All of my Zany Updates whenever requested!

Whilst I’d be remiss for not mentioning the untimely passing of Pixie The Wonderdog Wuf Wuf! Having celebrated Her One Year Anniversary this past May, appropriately over Indy 500 Qualie’ weekend. Whilst I listen to the next door neigbor’s Shitzu Barking away as I type this…

Not to mention Kuhnaidiun’ lass Claire who Died from Cancer at Age 40 now nearly three years ago. Along with another Good Friend Joanie who Died last Summer who I never got to see again after we went into Lockdown Wayback on March 13th, 2020…

But on the positive side, as I’ve scribbled previously. Mary Ellen’s got a great new Hoond’ who’s I affectionately nickname Hang 10’ Hilo, since He came from the Big Island. Who I eagerly look forward to “Seeing” every single time I have the opportunity to!

Along with contributions from Offical' Photographer CARPETS', Snowbyrd MJ', Randal, Thy Moniker King' and the Florentines Jeannie & Stevoe'. With continued assistance from Clyde & Nelie plus the still Mega' Killer official No Fenders logo provided by Artiste Dave!

Since like Melody Sheik brilliantly “Sings” in his Symphony of Science Masterpiece from a Dozen years ago. Uhm, who’s IndyCar Number is that? “We Are All connected!”
