Antron Brown on Excellence and His Mentor...

As it's a Sad state 'O Affairs that we've got to be constantly reminded that it's Black History month. For which the two men in the interview never specifically mention...

While the Spotlight's been firmly affixed upon Darrell "bubbah" Wallace, Junior's runner-up finish at this year's DayToner' 500, while driving for "The King!" which is a refreshing change for the sport of RASSCAR', especially after the way it and the Nation treated the late-Wendell Scott over a Half Century ago.

For which most ironically good 'Ol Richard Petty was the Pole sitter for that exact same race, which is designated as Round-3 of the 1964 Grand National Stock Car season, although it took place on December 3, 1963.

As Oh, My FREAKIN' GAWD! Not allowing Wendell his deserved right of standing atop the podium after winning the 1964 Jacksonville 200 for FEAR of him hugging the white female trophy presenters; SHIT!

As that sure Don't seem very Christian to Mwah, especially during thou Holiest 'O Months, besides Easter, Eh?

And Lewis Hamilton's getting ready to aim for doing the unthinkable, winning an Uber' rare fifth Formula 1 World Championship. Whilst Jann Mardenborough, the ex-Nissan Gamer turned racing driver carves out his niche in relative anonymity in Japan.

But the driver of this triumbrant I'm most impressed by is the one getting the least Fanfare for the moment, who's also a multi-times series winning champion. As his name's Antron Brown, who's won the NHRA's premiere Nitro Top Fuel Dragsters' Championship three times to date.

As Sadly, since after all it's the tail end of Black, or is it African American History month now? For which I tend to forget yearly. Antron recently sat down with "Statmann Caruthers" of Speed Freaks fame to discuss a wide range of topics.

It's a really good interview, which gives a small insight into just some of the challenges minority racing drivers, and their race have to endure and rise above in their daily walks 'O life...

F1: Now and Then...

The Pre-War #33 Alfa Romeo Tipo 308, which contested four Indianapolis 500 races on display at the IMS Hall of Fame museum in 2010. (The Tomaso Collection)
As thou late Dave Neihaus would say: "My, Oh, My!" Those sure are UGLY lookin' F1 cars...

Yeah, Y'all know the drill, Righto? As the glacier's move very slowly here on thou Isle 'O Nofendersville. As Thar won't be any riveting F1 Car Reveals or Formula 1 Spring Training notes here; but I digress...

Was fumblin' thru an F1 website I typically shy away from last Fall, especially since it's so Bloody annoying for Lucy', my Screen Reader to navigate!

But ran across an interesting story Thar nonetheless, describing how Formula 1 really hasn't changed much over the last 15 years. (Although this was in regards prior to this year's Halo...)

Although 15yrs ago Thar were NO GP2; Err FIA Formula 2 Feeder Series, as the sport was in the final throws of F3000 International instead, as drivers joining F1 presumably were older, before "The Brat!" (Max Verstappen) Rule was instigated, mandating all Formula 1 drivers be at least 18 years old!

As now the FIA has further tweaked its F1 Superlicense rules points system, requiring 40 points in order to qualify for the mandatory F1 license to participate in thou Pinnacle of Motorsports...

Yet that was long ago, before the FIA, and Jean Todt mandated the most hideous "Safety" device ever upon Formula 1, nee Halo...

For which I've still NOT heard a Peep 'bout how Drivers will extricate themselves quickly & safely in the event of a KERS/ERS failure!

Whilst obviously, the Grand Prix world was a different place over a half century ago. As I'm not saying that today's drivers are any less "Manly," or don't accept risks, but...

Obviously, It certainly was a very, very different world back then, for which sadly, Dying was part 'N parcel, unfortunately!

Russian Rumblings, Sergey Speaks...

As hopefully the Funding's not coming courtesy "O those fine Russian lads at the Nuclear laboratory's Crypto-presses...

A 'lil light Sunday morning reading for Y'all. As originally I wasn't gonna byte' over the newest Russian Formula One's defiant tone over Not being a Pay Driver; I said Nyet Damn It!

But I beg to differ with Sergey Sirotkin, who should be taking to the wheel of the Williams FW41 now. Since what else could Yuhs call the Mega Dowry his financial backer SPM gave Team Willy' to acquire his drive?

But Don't get me wrong, I hope for nothing more than Sirotkin's success, which if nothing else, I've had to learn how to speel his name, i.e.; first & last; Hya! Along with his team-mate Lance Stroll and Williams Martini Racing overall.

As it really seems that the Grove based squad with customer Mercedes PU's should be  faring better than fifth overall in the vaunted F1 constructors cup.

Yet Sergey has some big shoes to fill for Mother Russia, since arguably the recently Axed Daniil Kvyat is the country's most successful F1 Driver to date, having multiple podiums along with finishing an excellent 7th overall in the Drivers standings in 2015. Three points ahead of team leader Daniel Ricky' Ricciardo.

Ah, but that was before Der Helmut Shaftmeister' gave Dani thou Ax a second and final time last October, just before Halloween!

Albeit Dr. Marco & Red Bull's tossing him aside for some Niederlander' truly threw the Russian off his game! From which he never really recovered...

And lastly, in case Y'all thought I forgot 'bout Russia's maiden modern day Formula 1 Pilote', you can read about Vitaly VO5' Petrov below, from another of my endless ramblings here on No Fenders...
