Jean-Pierre Who? Bugatti honours relatively unknown driver...



Pardon  Mwah Messer Moss, do you have any Gray Poupon? As I have NO idea if Sir Stirling actually raced against this obscure Frenchman; Hya! Since he's unknown to Mwah - having never heard of the celebrated Jean-Pierre Wimille who won le 24 Heurs du Mans twice for Bugatti pre-World War II along with various Grand Prix victories. As Bugatti will honour Wimille with a limited edition production of three Wimille Veyron "Speciale's..."


Whilst the Wimille edition Veyron broke cover stateside over the Monterey Historics weekend this mid-August - of which you can peruse a few pics in this story below...


As it's funny how we learn about history, eh? Having seen one lone black 'N yellow "Bumblebee" Veyron at Geo. Phillips favourite Texas track COTA (Circuit Of The Americas) last November; or was that Buzzin' & Hornets paint scheme in deference to those past 'EJ (Eddie Jordan) B & H F1 racecars? Hya! I've just finally discovered where the name Veyron comes from, as  in a one Pierre Veyron...
