Meadowlark Lemon: 1932-2015

This basketball virtuoso became the face of the legendous' Harlem Globetrotters for nearly a quarter of a century during their Heyday...

Although I cannot confirm I-T, or swear to it, nonetheless, I believe that I saw the GURR-REAT! Meadowlark Lemon as a 'Wee lad when my Grandfather took me to see them perform at what will always be simply the Coliseum to Mwah, 'Wayback in Thy early 1970's. In a time when the future NBA World Champion Seattle Supersonics were but a glint in Seattle's eye - Long before the likes 'O "Downtown" Freddy Brown, Lenny Wilkens, Slick Watts to name just a few Supersonics Greats!

Actually not even recognizing  our beloved Supersonics until those two championship seasons - A further decade-plus would pass, until I began attending games with "Stick 'N Ball" devotee Marcus at then the Key Arena during the George Karl era; but I digress...

As Meadowlark Lemon was the face of the Showbiz' Globetrotters and  as their Ringleader, played in an incredible 16,000 games during his lifetime near and abroad!

As cannot part without a video clip featuring their signature song, Sweet Georgia Brown...
