Rebels with Different Causes...

As Father Time marches on, suppose we all hear its calling us - And just wanted to post a Quickie' about three unique individuals recent demise...

Obviously Y'all have heard the news about legendary "Rocker" Extraordinaire David Bowie's unexpected death which shocked me upon hearing the tragic news whilst in Arizona recently. As I enjoyed Grizzled Journo' Joe Saward's different take upon Thy legendous' Showman, whom not only transcended music ant the Arts, but also apparently motor racing.

And in a totally different vain, Monsieur Saward noted that the late James Garner, who plays Pete Aron in the fabulous movie Grand Prix - Sidekick Scott Stoddard, played by Brian Bedford has made his final curtain call at age 80.

As I penned my thoughts upon watching that epic film most appropriately on a long ago Christmas weekend.

Along with scribblin' about 'Ol Jimmy Rockford's (James Garner) penchant for A-L-L things  Chevrolet, including briefly owning a Corvette race team in the 1960's which competed at Le Mans...

Then as I was wrapping up this riveting Post, news broke about another legendous' Rocker having passed away, as Glenn Frey, one of The Eagles founding members perished at the relatively young age of 67.

As like many, The Eagles hold a significant spot in my heart 'O music, as its hard to believe that one of the best rock albums of All-time, nee Hotel California was released 40yrs ago; CRIKEYS!

Although I tend to remember Frey from his Miami Vice days, having recorded the Hit songs Smuggler's Blues and You Belong to the City for his good Pal Don Johnson during The Eagles 14yr hiatus.

While who can forget that epic Eagles Hit Life in The Fast Lane, appropriately with Glenn Frey's mean lead vocals. And like his Good Buddy Don Henley croons in Hotel California,

Last thing I remember
I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
Relax said the night man
We are programed to receive
You can check out any time you like
But you can never leave

Hotel California
Song lyrics by Don Felder, Don Henley and Glenn Frey
