A Sad day for loyal British Formula 1 TV viewers...

So, initially when reading the news that Ye mighty BBC had taken an Ax to its unprecedented totally Commercial FREE Formula One television broadcasts by sending half over to rival Pay-Per-View Sky Sports... I wasn’t surprised, nor too interested since it doesn’t directly affect Mwah; BUTT! Now having read a bit more it seems like a totally ATTROCIOUS kick in the GROIN to all of the sports loyal, faithful and devoted British Grand Prix fans who make a yearly effort to watch said sport upon their Telies...

And the funniest part of the argument is that the sports broadcasts on BBC are totally “Free,” as I was unaware that ALL British Subjects are subjugated to mandatory payment of L145 yearly license fee – which is punishable by law for failure of payment...

Those of us Stateside who wish to catch all of the F1 action upon the SPEED network are most likely forced to procure our local(?) Cable TV providers “Premium” package, of which I procure both the SPEED channel and Versus, Err NBC Sports Network thru my wonderful comca$t franchise – to which we’re forced to endure blatant OVERCOMMERCIALIZATION program interruptions routinely every 8-10mins! But I digress...

Back to our British television viewers who’ll now be forced to obtain a Sky Sports package at L300? Per year beginning in 2012 in order to watch the non-Cherry-picked (BBC) remaining 10-rounds – I’m really NOT sure what I’d due in said situation, as it’d personally behoove Mwah to give into Uncle Bernaughty and the Formula 1 Teams copious GREED! Just in order to watch a Sporting match; SHEISA!

Thus it would be nice if the fine folks at Sky; OOPS! Just learned this is part of the Rupert Murdoch News Corporation Empire... Y’all know the one that’s currently seeing a rash of arrests over the illegal telephone and email hacking furor by the now defunct News of The World tabloid; Hmm? As that’s certainly an ironic coincidence, eh? BSkyB may not be able to immediately thrust through their $12 Billion acquisition by Sir Rubarb Murdoc’s Global media DeathStar – but by Gummit! We’ll getz Yuhs Juan way or another meeze Pretties...

As everyone, i.e.; Mr. Ecclestone, current F1 Constructors and Sky ALL stand to PROFIT from the new arrangement and hence, therefore; There is a petition against this laughable excuse of a new television dealio currently available to which I’ve read has had more signatures applied vs. Team Willie’s (Williams Grand Prix) 28,000+ Twitter followers – as the new head of Team Willy – a one Mr. Adam Paar seems to be quite pompous about the whole BBC-Sky affair, and thus you may wish to sign the petition below...
