INDY 500: Here We Go Again

As almost said Time to launch thoust Balloons…

Welcome to the Month of May, Y’all know when Thars a Svelte eight Days ‘O Running at Mother Speedway, for some Spectale du Jour’, or whatever they call it, Hya!

Although I think it’s Bulked Up to a robust nine Days now, noting that the final 2 Hours practice session on Monday, following Qualifying has returned this year. And Nah, No Number Nine Jokes Here, Botta Boom!

As I noticed on April 26th, remarkably just 33 Days before the Big race, CoIndy-dense? That IMS was trumpeting Thar Cough cough, New & Improved Fast 12 Qualifying format, in lieu of having only 33 cars expecting to be entered this May, which Y’all can read in the link below.

So I understand former Racing Drivers turned Announcers Not Throwing other Drivers Underneath the Bus, But! Have to say I take exception to IndyCar Radio’s Davey Hamilton singing Coomb Bye Yah about The dude’, aka Ryan Hunter-Reay being totally respected by All of the other Drivers in the Paddock and how He Always raced everyone “Clean.” Ahem, Davey, Thars a good reason I took to calling Him Bully-Ray’ here upon No Fenders for quite awhile after he’d Turfed Oriol Suitcase’ Servia for No apparent reason!

Speaking ‘O RHR’, or Hunter-Reay, his interview with Michael Screech’ Young on Pitlane during Wednesday’s IMS Indy 500 Open Test was  somewhat entertaining. With Hunter-Reay telling Young when Queried over He had Options for driving at Indianapolis? Ryan coyly said I could tell you, but then I’d Have to Kill you Yuck Yuck Yuck! AS I cannot understand why RHR would turn down driving a second Juncos Hollinger Racing entry, and whether we’ll ever see The Dude competing at Mother Speedway again?

As what’s that ‘Ol Addage about you’re Only as good as your last race? And wouldn’t it have Behooved Hunter-Reay to keep his name in circulation by being in this year’s event? Especially since we’ve just learned the woes of the late Ted Prappas being Out of Work at Age 37…

Yeah, I understand that’s  two different circumstances, and that RHR’s pedigree as an Indianapolis 500 winner and IndyCar Champion is worth noting. But my point is that Hunter-Reay will be 42 next May, Ain’t getting any younger and Thar’s multiple Younk Turks waiting for their chance at Mother Speedway…

The Funny bit Ryan divulged was over what to do with his three Boys. Noting when He was coming up the ranks it was just Him and his Dad pulling a trailer. But now it’s six-eight Go Karters together on a team and you’ve got to have a Transporter! And if He lets one boy go racing, then He’s got to let All three. To which Young quipped about Golf, which Ryan said that’s expensive too! Before Young said sounds like it’s gonna cost you money no matter what…

Was going to scribble something about the second coming of Jimmie, as some on Ye Blogosphere are calling Him the Messiah! Hey, I admire JJ’ for what He’s doing at 45 or is it 46? But it seems a Sad commentary upon IndyCar that He’s it’s Biggest Star! And I loved how one female Racer Mailbag writer Blew Marshall Pruett’s Sarcasm Meter Off the Chart! About how She Hopes JJ’ wins the Indy 500 so for the rest of eternity it’ll be  Wall to Wall Jimmie Johnson for every IndyCar TV Broadcast from now on!

Yes, Johnson has a legitimate shot thanks solely to being with one of the top teams, Err “Big 3,” ergo Penske, Ganassi and Andretti Autosport. But I still think Johnson won’t win the Borg Warner this year because there’s simply too much IndyCar talent also in the race…

Lastly, as it’s awhile ago now, so I’m going on memory here. Believe it was IndyStar’s Crack Motorsports Beat Writer Nathan Browne who noted in regards to Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden being fastest Overall at the two day test this year. That Newgarden had also been P1 at last year’s Open Test before Qualifying 21st and finishing a rather Ho Hum P11.

Obviously track conditions, and Nah, Aint’ gonna pontificate about the slippery Warm-up Pit Exit lane, since I’ll expect that to be solved by Opening Day May 17th. But Track conditions will change Ah-Mighty due to the weather conditions having changed. As I’ll Arse-sume it’ll be much warmer then, but what do I know? After All I’m just a lowly Blind Cellar Dwelling Blogger, Hya!
