F1: 2014 Qualifying Format tweaks clarified...



Just spotted this news about some last minute rules clarifications regarding the latest F1 Qualifying procedures. Having already known about the extra set of tyres granted for the Q3 'Qualie session intended to entice the Top-10 runners to actually complete laps in the final session instead of saving their precious Pirelli rubber for the race, this decision has actually been tweaked further with the entire grid receiving an extra set of Pirelli's softest rubber compound of the corresponding race weekend according to James Allen...


Yet a different article tells a different story - along with actually revealing the slight time modifications to the Q1 and Q3 'Qualie sessions...


As Q1 will be shaved by two minutes to 18, while Q3 will increase by the same two minute interval to 12 - while the Top-10 runners will need to run upon their extra set of Pirelli's before handing them back before starting upon their Q2 tyres, whilst reportedly Positions 11-22 will be allowed to utilize their extra set of rubber during the race.
