Otay, seems like a long, long time ago, last
October that is... Even if IndyCar had
already been on Sabbatical for 64-weeks! Err, I meant nearly six weeks,
as originally 'Wayback then I was left saying FU Stick 'N Ball Americre', since
it seemed a 'Wee bit tragic that the vaunted season ending Tutor United Sportscar
Championship (TUSC) season finale was NOWHERE to be seen upon "Celestial TV;" FRICK!
As apparently showing us the melding of
IMSA's top Sports Car guns; names such as Pruett, Rojas, "The Taylor
Brothers," Christian Fittipaldi and 'JB; NO! Not Justin Bell; Hya! But João Barbosa
vs. the likes of two Indy 500 winners,
i.e.; Scott Dixon and Ryan Hunter-reay, while others from the IndyCar
ranks included Ryan Briscoe, le 'Hamburgular, nee Sebastain Bourdais and Union'
Jack Hawksworth to name just a few simply weren't worthy!
As I'd ARSE-sume'
many 'O these IndyCar Boyz will be on hand at DayToner for this year's Rolex
24, with SeaBass confirmed, while I'd expect Dixon to be in the
Target-mobile...
Yet at least the Atlanta Journal provided us a
brief glimpse into some of the local drivers thoughts upon the race, noting amongst
other thingys, that Dempsey Racing, as in "Dr. McDreamy's" (Patrick
Dempsey) racing team is now located in Flowery Branch, Georgia, albeit having
just laid off ten employees with the shop going quiet; bummer!
While Doctor Dempsey
has taken up Porsche's offer to compete
in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) instead., along with contesting the
Rolex 24, and all of the Endurance Cup races...
Yet whenever I think of Flowery Branch (GA) I
immediately think of "Johnny
'O," aka O'Connell, a longtime
'Mega successful GM Factory Sports Car driver, primarily 'Vette's, and lately a
Hired Gun for "Team Caddy's" (Cadillac Racing) Pirelli World
Challenge CTVS Coupes.
Then again, when I think of Georgia, my mind
goes 'Wayback as to thinking of the word Kudzu! Along with a one Mr. Jim Downing,
the father of the once revolutionary Head And Neck Restraint System, as the
HANS device is pretty much adopted and required worldwide in all major motor
racing series these days...
While I remember those Kudzu's, named in
honour of a borcipherous Georgia weed, being some NARLY multi-rotored Mazda Beast's that help power
Messer Downing to five Sports Car championships!
Meanwhile, DJ WillyP' (Will Power ) was Down Under
celebrating his debutant Indy Car Series championship by deciding to race a
Jet! Hmm? Guessing he had so much free time on his hands during IndyCar's
"Off Season that he didn't know what to do with A-L-L of his FREE time, eh?
As when will 'El Capitano return to the Rolex?
