Carroll Shelby sells his last bottle of Snake Oil...

By now I’m assuming Y’all have heard the news that the world’s fastest talkin’ smoothest soundin’Texan Snake Oil Salesman has died. As Carroll Shelby passed away on Thursday, May 10th at the age of 89 in a Dallas hospital...

And as many enthusiasts know, ‘Ol Shel was not only the man who led Ford to victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe - he was also the man who broke Enzo Ferrari’s stranglehold upon the French classic - leaving la Scuderia winless since the mighty GT-40’s quashed “Il Commendatore” with that controversial 1-2-3 sweep in 1966.

Thus for the meantime I’ll leave my more complete homage to ‘Ol Shel ‘til later this summer, as ironically it’ll be the Twentieth Anniversary of SAAC-17, the ‘Juan ‘N Only National Shelby Owners meet at Portland International Raceway...
