George Barris, King of California Customizing dies at 89



Y'all know it's coming: Baff! Biff! Slam! Bash! Boom! Duddah-Duddah-Duddah Batman!

George Barris, the King of California Customized Automobiles, most notably the original Batmobile, which Barris let go for a cool $4.62m at Barrett Jackson in 2013 has died at the age of 89.

As Barrises hand crafted works of metal are quite diverse. From the 1960's Batmobile to the Dragula & "Coffinmobile Coach" for The Munsters, Beverly Hillbillies Jalopy to Kitt of Knightrider fame and the Dukes 'O Hazzard and everywhere in-between. While Barris also crafted cars for the Starz', like Zsa Zsa Gabor,
Liberace, Elvis and Sir Elton John just to name a few...
