Jon Beekhuis 'shows' has passion for the sport, unlike one o' the stiffs hired for the booth for 2009 cable TV...

"...I see a lot of my merchandise walking around..."

Say what?

Yeah Jon Beekhuis is one of my favourite broadcasters... So I think he'll be a great fit to the Versus booth... Don't know nothing 'bout Robbie "that's MY Team" Buhl... and Bob Jenkins is a classic... And if you wait long 'nuff he's got a greatDry humour.

As for Bad Bobby D, we'll just hope his merchandise sales technique is better then his media communication, eh?

Great video find! I do miss those cars and engines. I don't miss the timed races and the field-fillers.

There's a part of me still wishing there was room for two US-based OW series even though my head knows it would never work.
One mainly US on mainly ovals.
The other on mainly road tracks (NOT streets) based in the US but visiting lots of other places.

2007 was the only year I watched both series in full, great year.

Yeah, I know the feeling... Having only been to CART/Champ Car races over the past several years... I truly miss the siren song of the Ford/Cosworth turbo "Lumps," and I think they'll be hard pressed to be duplicated. Especially since I haven't heard a Honda V8 IRL motor in anger "live." And while I like the idea of going back to turbocharging, I'm NOT overly excited about 4 cylinder units, I mean isn't that what they use in Formula Ford?
